چکیده
This paper describes a fast search algorithm f o r warping motion compensation schemes which is bused on a first order approximation of a Taylor series. In comparison to a full search algorithm the technique significantly reduces the required computational load (by a factor of approximately f i f ty) whilst maintaining the performance in terms of prediction error. Further gains in prediction error performance are expected as the new algorithm is investigated further.

Adaptive search area for fast motion estimation
In this paper a new method for determining the search area for motion estimation algorithm based on block matching is suggested. In the proposed method the search area is adaptively found for each block of a frame. This search area is similar to that of the full search (FS) algorithm but smaller for most blocks of a frame. Therefore, the proposed algorithm is analogous to FS in terms of reg...

A new technique presents to improve the performance of dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) for voltage sag mitigation. This control scheme is based on cuckoo search algorithm with tree fuzzy rule based classifier (CSA-TFRC). CSA is used for optimizing the output of TFRC so the classification output of the network is enhanced. While, the combination of cuckoo search algorithm, fuzzy and decision tree...
متن کاملNew adaptive interpolation schemes for efficient meshbased motion estimation
Motion estimation and compensation is an essential part of existing video coding systems. The mesh-based motion estimation (MME) produces smoother motion field, better subjective quality (free from blocking artifacts), and higher peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) in many cases, especially at low bitrate video communications, compared to the conventional block matching algorithm (BMA). Howev...
متن کاملCorrelation Based Search Algorithms for Motion Estimation
† Work supported in part by Institute for Information Industry. Abstract The measure of the ‘goodness’ of a motion estimation algorithm is governed by it’s speed, the quality of motion compensation it provides, and the size of the resulting bitstream. Hence, algorithms should be evaluated based on this ‘speed-quality-bitrate’ tradeoff. Previously introduced fast motion estimation algorithms foc...
